The speaker at the first meeting of CRSC’s 2017-18 winter session is Colin Tucker, a widely recognised authority on Hebridean shipping. His illustrated talk is titled ‘A Decade of Change - MacBraynes in the 1960s’. All are welcome.
From 7.30pm until 9.15pm
At Jurys Inn
Jamaica Street, Glasgow
Colin Tucker is well qualified to talk about MacBraynes in the 1960s: during student holidays in the latter half of the decade, he worked on the 1964 car ferry Hebrides on the Uig triangle and on the Stornoway mail boat Loch Seaforth. A much admired writer and speaker on Scottish shipping, he brings a lifetime’s perspective to his subject, and his illustrated talk is sure to stir memories and arouse interest in what is now recognised as a fascinating era of Hebridean shipping history. Entry is free and non-members are welcome: please arrive early to socialise in the ante-room on the first floor of Jurys Inn.
