Lucy Ashton – 29th May 1948

The Club’s first full charter
Craigendoran, Helensburgh, cruise to Gareloch.
Gourock, Dunoon, Kirn, cruise to Holy Loch
and via Inverkip, Rothesay, cruise to Loch Striven,
Rothesay, Dunoon, Kirn,  Gourock, Craigendoran,

This charter was unusual insofar as the Club also arranged to charter a train, in conjunction with the steamer charter, with the Locomotive “Lucy Ashton” as the motive power – the Club’s only train charter

The locomotive 62680 “Lucy Ashton”
which hauled the Club’s only charter train
on 29th May 1948 from
