2019 Calendar, Photo Offer, DVDs

Guess what graces the front cover of the 2019 Calendar — and where?

CRSC’s 2019 Calendar is now on sale. Secure your copy here while stocks last.

Priced at £11 post-free (£12 overseas) and produced jointly with WHSC, this must-have item is jam-full of colour photographs, most of which are published for the first time. Each month features a mix of well known Clyde and West Highland vessels, past and present, in outstanding locations.

Highlights include PS Caledonia steaming up the Clyde beneath the yet-to-be-completed Erskine Bridge and a beauty of Isle of Arran and Loch Seaforth in Stornoway Harbour.

Our autumn 2018 photo offer is also available and can be snapped up here. It comprises 12 vintage colour prints from the Dr Joe McKendrick Collection, ranging from Duchess of Hamilton sweeping majestically out of Rothesay Bay in August 1968 to Isle of Lewis on Fergusons’ slip at Port Glasgow on launch day 1995. Each image has been chosen for its historical significance and picture-quality. The set costs £16 post-free, but paid-up CRSC members get it for £12. Order your set here.

We also have a new DVD! Video 2018 has footage of the launch of the new Glen Sannox at Port Glasgow in December 2017, Carvoria (CalMac’s smallest ferry) in the Sound of Kerrera, a farewell tribute to Eigg and Raasay, Finlaggan at Ardrossan and Troon, plus other ‘unique’ scenes, as well as vintage clips of Earl of Zetland riding a big sea in Shetland in the 1960s. Buy it here for £17 (£15 for CRSC members).

Our historic DVD, Clyde Steamers in Colour, has been selling like the proverbial hot cakes. Culled from cine-films bequeathed to CRSC by the late Ian Brown, it has fascinating sequences of Talisman, Caledonia, King George V, the ‘Maids’ and other favourites of yesteryear. We still have a few copies left, so snap up your copy here while stocks last.

If you are not yet a member of CRSC, please bear in mind our bargain £10 introductory offer, which automatically qualifies you for all the discounts on photos, DVDs and excursions, as well as a free copy of Review 2015 (130 pages of ship info and pics) and Clyde Steamers, the 56-page colour magazine with articles on everything from the glorious summer of 1968 to CalMac’s first female Chief Engineer.

We look forward to seeing and hearing from you in coming months. If you have any questions, please drop us a line at info@crsc.org.uk
