Keppel at Largs as KGV waits to berth   KGV at Tarbert – Starboard side to!
John’s notes from the evening:
Not sure if you were on this sailing or not but everyone present that evening (plus one member yet to be born) will never forget the George attempting to swing round the East Loch to berth starboard side to the pier. I’d seen this done by the Maids but it just looked impossible on the George when she started turning.  As you probably know she managed it, just, giving the pier the most almighty wallop with the starboard belting at prom deck level where the enclosed saloon starts.  It was the talking point of the whole cruise!

Some additional information provided by Fraser MacHaffie
Apparently Arrochar was the intended destination but MacBrayne’s reconsidered and CRSC had to change the destination to Tarbert.
Fraser has provided a copy of the original booking form reflecting the initial plan for the Charter.
