Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR)

DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS 2018 [‘GDPR’] Members of the CRSC [‘the Club’] will probably in the course of 2018 and subsequent years have received requests from organisations to continue sending communications, following the introduction of new GDPR. Because the Club corresponds with members by printed correspondence and email, consent by members to continue with this process is implied by payment of the annual subscription. Data retention information is as follows.
1 The Club maintains a database of members for general correspondence from which name and address labels for distribution are produced. A separate email database for information about cruising activities is also retained. These databases are retained by the Membership Secretary.
2 The two databases are for the sole use of the Club in correspondence with its members. The information contained therein is not shared with third parties. Occasionally, items from third parties are enclosed with the Club’s correspondence but this is under the Club’s complete control.
3. The names and addresses of members who leave the Club will be retained on the two databases for a limited period which will not exceed one year.
