New edition of ‘Clyde Steamers’

Clyde Steamers 2016 front coverThe 2016 edition of CRSC’s magazine takes ‘The human dimension’ as its theme, spotlighting the people who have crewed Clyde and Hebridean ships as much as the ships themselves.

Maverick CalMac skipper Andy McCrindle surveys the highlights and controversies of his career, and provides an all-weather analysis of the navigational options at Lochmaddy pier. Other articles include a portrait of G&SW paddler Mars, a history of the life and legacy of Oban mariner-entrepreneur Alexander Paterson, and studies of the Campbells of Kilmun, paddle steamer trial speeds and the turbine Duchess of Montrose; plus loads of fascinating photographs.
