Cruise Round Ailsa Craig – CHANGE OF DATE

Ailsa Craig and MV Isle of Arran — an unbeatable combination. Don’t miss the cruise on 19 January

Due to factors beyond CRSC’s control , we are having to postpone the Ailsa Craig charter of MV Isle of Arran by one week. The cruise will now take place on Saturday 19 January.

CRSC apologises for any inconvenience caused. We were informed by CalMac late on 9 January that, due to a technical failure on one of the ship’s lifeboats, the company could not fulfil the terms of the charter on the original date (12 January), but would have the problem fixed in time for 19 January.

Bookings already received will have the same validity for Saturday 19 January.

There are still some tickets available for the cruise: they cost £46, including a two-course meal with tea/coffee in the ship’s restaurant. CalMac have kindly agreed to expand the meal menu to include Steak Pie and Curry. Book here!

The vessel will leave Ardrossan at 11am and return at 4pm. A special £32 ticket is available for under 16s.

We hope you will be able to join us on what promises to be an exceptional midwinter cruise.  Tickets should be picked up between 09.50 and 10.30 on the morning of the charter in the lounge area of the Ardrossan Terminal Building.

If you have already booked and are unable to come on the 19th, you will be eligible for a refund. Please email cruising@crsc.org.uk by Sunday 13 January to say so. If we do not hear from you by then, we will assume you are willing to transfer your booking to the revised date.

If you are coming by train from Glasgow, please check ScotRail schedules, as some interruptions of service are in force this month between Central Station and Paisley Gilmour Street.

We look forward to seeing you on the 19th. CRSC cruises are very sociable occasions, and this one will be no exception. It will be the first time a ‘steamer’ has undertaken an excursion round the ‘Craig’ in winter, and the first time any CalMac ferry has circumnavigated the iconic granite island.

Please note that the cruise is subject to weather conditions and other circumstances on the day.

For anyone still wishing to buy tickets, please remember to complete your order by going to the box marked ‘Items’ at the top right-hand side of the CRSC website page, where you can fill in menu options etc and pay. If you have any queries, please email cruising@crsc.org.uk
