CRSC’s spring 2019 Photo Offer is drawn exclusively from the Iain MacArthur Collection.

Click here to buy your pack of 12 colour prints post-free for £16. Paid-up CRSC members get them for the discounted price of £12.

None of these photos has been previously published.

They are supplied in 7″ x 5″ format and as full sets only.

The images, all from the 1970s and 1980s, have been selected for their rarity value and quality.

They include classic shots of the ‘streaker’ Jupiter at Ardrossan, Claymore and Glen Sannox at Oban (above right), Iona at Port Askaig, Balmoral leaving Rothesay in white hull and yellow funnel, Cowal with red funnel at Wemyss Bay and Waverley at Crinan — plus a beauty of Isle of Arran leaving Brodick in all-black hull in 1984, shortly after her entry into service.

Iain MacArthur helped to spearhead CRSC’s rejuvenation in the 1960s and 1970s.

Founder editor of Clyde Steamers, the Club’s annual magazine, Iain is the author of one of the most sought-after shipping history books, The Caledonian Steam Packet Company (1970). In retirement he retains a keen interest in marine activity on the Firth.

CRSC is extremely grateful to Iain MacArthur for donating his colour slide collection and other photographs for the benefit of the Club.
