We’re going to Islay on Sunday 23 April!

A trip to Port Askaig is always special. The vessel on the route on 23 April may not be Finlaggan (pictured) — it could be Isle of Arran or Hebridean Isles

You are invited to join us for a special three-ferry Spring excursion to Islay on Sunday 23rd April.

This will be CRSC’s first visit to the Hebrides since October 2019. Click here to buy tickets.

We will leave Bishopton railway station by coach at 0800 to catch the 0900 Western Ferries departure from McInroy’s Point for Hunter’s Quay and onwards to Tarbert via Portavadie. After a quick stop in Tarbert and a short drive to Kennacraig, the 1300 ferry will take us to Port Askaig (Islay). The vessel will be berthed there from 1505 to 1530 before retracing her route back to Kennacraig. Our coach will return us to Bishopton at approximately 2030.

The price for this all-day excursion is £45.00 (£42.00 for paid-up CRSC members). Club Members may purchase additional tickets at the reduced rate for family & friends. Buy your tickets here.

As numbers are limited, early booking is strongly advised.

If you are not yet a member, join now for £10 by clicking here and receive a member’s discount straightaway.

It is not yet clear which CalMac vessel(s) will be operating the Islay run in late April: Finlaggan, the regular Islay ferry, is due for overhaul. There is a distinct possibility we could be travelling on Isle of Arran or Hebridean Isles (both of which have open deck space forward of the bridge).

CRSC excursions are renowned for their friendliness. We want as many members and friends as possible to enjoy the pleasures of ‘meeting together, sailing together and talking together’. Book your tickets here.
